Welcome to the Law Office of Robert A. Goldstein.  For more than 25 years we have protected consumers through class action litigation and individual lawsuits. The firm emphasizes helping borrowers who have entered into loans securing their homes.

The law firm is highly knowledgeable concerning loans covered by the Federal Truth-in-Lending Act ("TILA"), 15 U.S.C. Section 1601 et seq.  This section allows borrowers in certain situations to cancel their loans and repay only the net amount borrowed after deducting all loan costs and monthly payments made on the loan.

For example, on a $100,000 loan where the initial costs were $5000 and $20,000 in payments were made, the loan could be cancelled by paying $75,000 ($100,000 - $5000 in costs and 20,000 in payments equals $75,000).  We also have expert knowledge of other laws which protect home owners with problems with loans securing their homes: The Home Ownership and Equity Protection Act, 15 U.S.C. Section 1639, which contains the same protections as TILA, the new California statute dealing with consumer loans secured by real property, Financial Code Section 4970, elder abuse law and other laws which protect borrowers.

At no charge, our law firm will review loan documents for any loan securing a borrower’s home to determine whether TILA or some other consumer protection statute has been violated. We will advise what steps can be taken to assist the borrower in connection with the loan.
